Plant Description
Description
Syngonium podophyllum, commonly known as the Arrowhead Plant, is a versatile tropical houseplant with attractive arrow-shaped leaves and a naturally bushy or climbing growth habit. Easy to care for and fast growing, it's an excellent choice for beginners and brings a lush, tropical feel to homes and offices.
PLANT CARE
Everything you need to know to keep your plant happy and thriving.
LIGHT

WATER
Moderate watering. Allow the top few centimetres of compost to dry out between waterings. Keep the soil lightly moist but never waterlogged. Reduce watering slightly during winter.
SOIL
Free-draining aroid mix made from houseplant compost, orchid bark, and perlite to provide excellent drainage and airflow.
REPOT
Repot every 1â2 years in spring if rootbound. Move up one pot size only. Add a moss pole if you want the plant to climb and produce larger, more mature leaves.
HUMIDITY

AIR PURIFYING

JOE'S TOP TIP
Trim longer stems regularly to encourage a fuller, bushier plant. If allowed to climb a moss pole, the leaves will become much larger and can develop their mature, divided shape.
COMMON MISTAKE
Most people struggle with this plant by overwatering or growing it in low light, which can lead to faded colouring and leggy growth.
WHEN TO COME BACK TO US
Bring it back (or a photo) in 6â8 weeks if you want: ⢠Repotting advice ⢠Help training it to climb ⢠A health check or propagation advice
PLANT FACT
As Syngonium podophyllum matures, its leaves naturally change from simple arrowheads into more deeply divided shapes when grown as a climbing plant, giving it a completely different appearance from its juvenile form.
