Shipping & Delivery Policy
At Joe’s Plant Place, we want your plants to arrive healthy and in the best possible condition.
Because many of our products are living plants, we carefully consider when orders are dispatched. This means we may occasionally hold an order for a short period rather than risk live plants being left in a courier depot over a weekend or during unsuitable weather conditions.
UK Delivery
We offer UK delivery on eligible products and orders.
Delivery charges are calculated and displayed at checkout based on your order and the delivery service available.
Our standard delivery timeframe is usually 3–5 working days.
Please note that this is an estimated timeframe and may vary depending on when your order is placed, the products ordered and weather conditions.
Why We May Hold Your Plant Order
We don't want live plants sitting unnecessarily in courier depots, particularly over weekends.
Depending on the day your order is placed, we may hold your parcel and dispatch it at the beginning of the following week.
For example, an order placed towards the end of the week may not be dispatched immediately if we believe this would create a significant risk of the plants being held in a depot over the weekend.
Our priority is getting your plants to you safely rather than simply getting them out of our door as quickly as possible.
Hot & Cold Weather
Live plants can be sensitive to extreme temperatures.
During heatwaves, freezing temperatures, frost, severe cold or other unsuitable weather conditions, dispatch may take longer than our usual 3–5 working day timeframe.
We monitor conditions and will aim to dispatch your order when we believe there is a suitable delivery window.
This may mean temporarily holding your plants until conditions improve.
These decisions are made to reduce the risk of plants being damaged while travelling through the courier network.
Where a significant delay is expected, we will aim to keep you informed.
Dispatch & Delivery Times
Delivery estimates begin from the point your order is processed and prepared for dispatch.
Working days are Monday to Friday, excluding UK bank holidays.
Once your parcel has been dispatched, delivery times may be affected by the courier network and circumstances outside our reasonable control.
We will always make reasonable efforts to get your order to you within the estimated timeframe.
Live Plant Packaging
Plants are checked before dispatch and carefully packaged to help protect them during their journey.
Due to the nature of transporting live plants, you may occasionally notice:
-
A small amount of loose soil
-
Minor leaf movement
-
Small cosmetic marks
-
Leaves or stems moving during transport
Minor cosmetic changes do not necessarily mean that a plant is damaged or unhealthy.
If your plant arrives significantly damaged, please contact us as soon as possible and refer to our Returns & Refunds Policy.
Local Delivery
Where available, we offer local delivery around Caerphilly and surrounding areas.
Available local delivery options, charges and minimum order requirements will be displayed during checkout where your postcode is eligible.
Local deliveries may be completed directly by Joe’s Plant Place rather than through a national courier.
We may contact you regarding your delivery if necessary.
Click & Collect
Click & Collect is available from our Caerphilly shop where shown at checkout.
Please wait until you have received confirmation that your order is ready before travelling to collect it.
Collection is from:

Delivery Addresses
Please make sure your delivery address and postcode are correct before completing your order.
We cannot guarantee that an address can be changed once an order has been dispatched.
If you notice an error in your delivery details, please contact us as soon as possible.
Missed Deliveries
If nobody is available to receive your parcel, the courier may:
-
Attempt redelivery
-
Leave the parcel in a designated safe place
-
Leave it with a neighbour
-
Take it to a collection point
-
Return it to a local depot
The exact process will depend on the courier used.
Please follow the tracking information provided by the courier where available.
Because live plants are perishable, we recommend collecting or rearranging delivery of a missed plant parcel as soon as possible.
Delivery Delays
Occasionally, deliveries may be delayed by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including:
-
Severe weather
-
Extreme temperatures
-
Courier disruption
-
Bank holidays
-
High seasonal demand
-
Transport disruption
If there is a significant delay with your order, please contact us and we will help investigate.
Where your consumer rights provide a right to cancel because of a delivery delay, nothing in this policy affects those rights.
Damaged Parcels
If your parcel or plants arrive significantly damaged, please take clear photographs of:
-
The outside of the parcel
-
Any damaged packaging
-
The affected plant or product
Please contact us as soon as possible with your order details and photographs so we can assess the problem.
Please keep the plant, product and packaging until we have reviewed your claim.
Further information can be found in our Returns & Refunds Policy.
Delivery Restrictions
Some products may not be suitable for national delivery due to their size, weight, fragility or nature.
Where a product is available for Click & Collect or local delivery only, this will be indicated on the product page or during checkout.
We reserve the right to contact you if we reasonably believe an item cannot be safely delivered using the selected delivery method.
