Plant Description
Description
Sansevieria (Mixed Varieties), commonly known as the Snake Plant, is one of the toughest and most adaptable houseplants available. With its upright, sword-shaped leaves and architectural form, it brings a clean, modern look to any space while requiring very little maintenance. Ideal for beginners, busy households, and offices alike.
PLANT CARE
Everything you need to know to keep your plant happy and thriving.
LIGHT
Low Light
WATER
Low watering. Allow the compost to dry out completely between waterings. Water sparingly, especially during winter. Snake Plants store water in their thick leaves and are highly drought tolerant.
SOIL
Very free-draining cactus or succulent compost with added grit or perlite to prevent excess moisture around the roots.
REPOT
Repot every 2â3 years in spring or when rootbound. Move up one pot size only. Snake Plants perform best when slightly pot-bound.
HUMIDITY

JOE'S TOP TIP
Less is more. Snake Plants thrive on neglect and prefer to dry out completely between waterings. Bright, indirect light encourages stronger growth, but they'll happily tolerate lower-light rooms.
COMMON MISTAKE
Most people damage Snake Plants by overwatering. Constantly damp compost quickly leads to root rot.
