Hoya kerrii âVariegataâ, commonly known as the Variegated Sweetheart Hoya, is a slow-growing succulent vine prized for its thick heart-shaped leaves edged or splashed with creamy white and yellow variegation. More unusual than the standard Sweetheart Hoya, it's a beautiful collector's plant that brings colour and character to bright indoor spaces.

LIGHT

WATER
Low watering. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Thick leaves store water, so it's far better to underwater than overwater.
SOIL
Free-draining houseplant compost with added orchid bark, perlite, or grit for excellent drainage.
REPOT
Repot every 2â3 years in spring or when rootbound. Move up one pot size only. Hoyas are happiest when slightly snug in their pots.

JOE'S TOP TIP
Give it plenty of bright indirect light and don't be tempted to overwater. If you have a mature flowering plant, avoid removing the old flower spurs, as new flowers grow from the same spots each year.
COMMON MISTAKE
Most people damage this plant by overwatering or expecting a single-leaf cutting to grow into a vine. Many single-heart plants have no growing node and remain as one leaf for years.
