Plant Description

Description

Scindapsus pictus ‘Silvery Ann’, commonly known as Silvery Ann Satin Pothos, is an attractive trailing houseplant with heart-shaped green leaves covered in distinctive silver markings. Some leaves develop large areas of silver colouring, giving the plant its characteristic appearance. Grown in a hanging pot, its trailing vines cascade naturally, making it ideal for shelves, hanging displays and bright indoor spaces.

PLANT CARE

Everything you need to know to keep your plant happy and thriving.

☀️

LIGHT

Medium Light

💧

WATER

Moderate watering. Allow the top few centimetres of compost to dry out between waterings. Water thoroughly and allow excess water to drain away. Reduce watering during winter when growth naturally slows.

🌱

SOIL

Free-draining aroid mix containing houseplant compost, orchid bark and perlite to provide good drainage and airflow around the roots.

🪴

REPOT

Repot every 1–2 years in spring or when noticeably rootbound. Move up only one pot size at a time. When repotting a hanging specimen, carefully untangle the vines to avoid damaging the stems.

JOE'S TOP TIP

Give your ‘Trebie’ plenty of bright, indirect light to maintain its strong silver markings and encourage fuller growth. Trim longer or sparse vines occasionally to encourage branching. It can also be trained onto a moss pole if you want to encourage larger, more mature leaves.

⚠️

COMMON MISTAKE

Overwatering. Allow the upper section of compost to dry before watering again. Constantly wet compost can cause yellowing leaves and root rot.

PLANT FACT

Despite commonly being called a Satin Pothos, Scindapsus pictus isn't actually a true Pothos. ‘Trebie’ is particularly known for its larger leaves and extensive silver markings.
