Water

Moderate watering. Allow the top few centimetres of soil to dry out between waterings. Keep the compost lightly moist but avoid overwatering.

🌱

Soil

Free-draining houseplant compost with added orchid bark and perlite to improve drainage and airflow around the roots.

🪴

Repot

Repot every 1–2 years in spring if rootbound. Move up one pot size only. A moss pole or support will encourage larger, more mature foliage.

💡 Joe's Top Tip

Higher humidity and bright, indirect light keep the silver markings at their brightest. Trim longer vines occasionally to encourage a fuller, bushier plant.

⚠️ Common Mistake

Most people struggle with this plant by overwatering or growing it in very low light, which leads to slower growth and less pronounced silver variegation.

📅 When To Come Back To Us

Bring it back (or a photo) in 6–8 weeks if you want: • Repotting advice • A health check • Help encouraging larger leaves or climbing growth

🌿 Plant Fact

Despite often being called a Pothos, Scindapsus pictus isn't actually a true Pothos. Its velvety leaves and shimmering silver markings make it a close relative with a very different look and texture.
