Moderate watering. Allow the top few centimetres of compost to dry out between waterings. Unlike desert cacti, it prefers slightly more moisture but should never sit in water.

Free-draining cactus or orchid-style compost with added bark and perlite to improve airflow while retaining a little moisture.

Repot every 2–3 years in spring or when rootbound. Move up one pot size only. Rhipsalis prefers being slightly snug in its pot.
