Description
Peperomia caperata ‘Rosso’, commonly known as the Rosso Peperomia or Radiator Plant ‘Rosso’, is a compact houseplant with deeply ridged, pointed green leaves and striking deep red undersides. Its colourful foliage and neat growth habit make it perfect for desks, shelves, windowsills, and smaller indoor spaces.

WATER
Low to moderate watering. Allow the top half of the compost to dry out between waterings. Its thick leaves and stems store moisture, so it copes much better with being slightly too dry than being overwatered.
SOIL
Free-draining houseplant compost with added perlite and a little orchid bark to provide good drainage and airflow around the roots.
REPOT
Repot every 2–3 years in spring or when noticeably rootbound. Move up only one pot size at a time. Peperomias generally prefer being slightly pot-bound.

JOE'S TOP TIP
Give ‘Rosso’ bright, indirect light to keep the foliage compact and the red undersides vibrant. Avoid leaving water sitting within the dense centre of the plant, as this can encourage rot.
COMMON MISTAKE
Overwatering. Peperomia ‘Rosso’ has relatively small roots and fleshy foliage, so constantly damp compost can quickly cause root or stem rot.

PLANT FACT
