Water
Moderate watering. Allow the top few centimetres of compost to dry out between waterings. Water thoroughly, then allow excess water to drain away. Reduce watering during winter.
Soil
Free-draining houseplant compost with added perlite or orchid bark to improve drainage and airflow around the roots.
Repot
Repot every 2–3 years in spring or when rootbound. Move up one pot size only. Mature plants can remain in the same pot for longer with fresh compost added to the surface.

💡 Joe's Top Tip
Bright, indirect light keeps the cream and pink variegation at its best. Wipe the large leaves regularly with a damp cloth to remove dust and help the plant absorb as much light as possible.
⚠️ Common Mistake
Most people struggle with this plant by overwatering or placing it in low light, which can reduce the variegation and slow growth.
📅 When To Come Back To Us
Bring it back (or a photo) in 6–8 weeks if you want: • Repotting advice • A health check • Help maintaining strong variegation or encouraging bushier growth
🌿 Plant Fact
The pink sheath surrounding each new leaf is completely natural. As the new leaf unfurls, the sheath dries and falls away, revealing the next glossy leaf beneath.
