Moderate watering. Water regularly while establishing. Once established, it is fairly drought tolerant, although container-grown plants will need more frequent watering during dry weather.

Well-draining soil. Tolerates a wide range of soil types, including sandy and chalky soils, but dislikes prolonged waterlogging.
Repot
If grown in a container, repot every 2–3 years in spring using fresh compost. For long-term container growing, prune both the roots and top growth to maintain a manageable size.
