Low to moderate watering. Allow the top half of the compost to dry out between waterings. Water thoroughly, then allow any excess to drain away. Reduce watering during winter.

Free-draining houseplant compost with added perlite to improve drainage while retaining light moisture.

Repot every 2–3 years in spring or when rootbound. Move up one pot size only. Mature plants benefit from replacing the top layer of compost each spring.

💡 Joe's Top Tip
Bright, indirect light will keep the yellow leaf margins at their brightest, but this variety will also tolerate lower light conditions. Wipe the leaves regularly to remove dust and help the plant photosynthesise efficiently.
⚠️ Common Mistake
Most people struggle with this plant by overwatering. Dracaenas prefer to dry out slightly between waterings, and constantly wet compost can lead to root rot.

🌿 Plant Fact
