Moderate watering. Keep the compost lightly moist but not waterlogged. Allow the top few centimetres of soil to dry slightly between waterings. Reduce watering during winter.

Free-draining, nutrient-rich houseplant compost with added perlite to improve drainage while retaining light moisture.
Repot
Repot every 2–3 years in spring or when rootbound. Move up one pot size only. Mature plants appreciate fresh compost to support healthy foliage.

💡 Joe's Top Tip
Bright, indirect light produces the richest leaf colours. Increase humidity by grouping plants together or placing the plant on a pebble tray, especially during winter when indoor heating dries the air. Feed every 2–4 weeks during spring and summer to encourage vibrant new growth.

Most people struggle with Cordylines by allowing the compost to dry out completely or placing them in low light, which causes the vibrant colours to fade and leaf tips to brown.
