WATER

Moderate watering. Allow the top few centimetres of compost to dry out between waterings. Water thoroughly, then allow excess water to drain away. Reduce watering during winter.

🌱

SOIL

Free-draining houseplant compost with added perlite to improve drainage while retaining light moisture.

🪴

REPOT

Repot every 1–2 years in spring or when rootbound. Spider Plants prefer to be slightly pot-bound and often produce more baby plants before needing a larger pot.

JOE'S TOP TIP

Bright, indirect light encourages strong variegation and plenty of baby spider plants. Leave the plantlets attached for a cascading display or remove and pot them up to grow new plants.

⚠️

COMMON MISTAKE

Most people struggle with Spider Plants by overwatering or using hard tap water, which can cause brown leaf tips. Rainwater or filtered water can help keep the foliage looking fresh.

WHEN TO COME BACK TO US

Bring it back (or a photo) in 6–8 weeks if you want: • Repotting advice • Help propagating the baby plants • A general plant health check

🌿

PLANT FACT
