Plant Care
Everything you need to know to keep your plant happy and thriving.
Light
Bright Light
Water
Low watering. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Water sparingly, especially during winter. The pearl-shaped leaves store water, making the plant highly drought tolerant.
Soil
Very free-draining cactus or succulent compost with added grit or perlite to prevent excess moisture around the roots.
Repot
Repot every 2–3 years in spring if rootbound. Move up one pot size only. Handle carefully, as the trailing stems are delicate.
Humidity
Low
Difficulty
Medium
💡 Joe's Top Tip
Place it somewhere bright where the trails can cascade freely. Water only when the compost is completely dry, and avoid burying the stems, as they root naturally where they touch the soil.
⚠️ Common Mistake
Most people damage this plant by overwatering or keeping it in poor light, which quickly leads to root rot and weak, stretched growth.
📅 When To Come Back To Us
Bring it back (or a photo) in 8–12 weeks if you want: • Repotting advice • A health check • Help propagating trailing stems
🌿 Plant Fact
Each round "pearl" has a small transparent window that allows sunlight to reach the inside of the leaf, helping the plant photosynthesise while reducing water loss.
