Every child will receive:

• A bug hotel made from reclaimed pallet wood.
• A selection of natural filling materials.
• All tools and materials needed.
• Step-by-step guidance throughout the workshop.
• A bug hotel information sheet.
• Their completed bug hotel to take home.

During the workshop children will learn:

• Why bugs are important for our gardens.
• Which insects use bug hotels.
• How bug hotels provide shelter and nesting spaces.
• What materials insects like to live in.
• The best place to put a bug hotel.
• How to look after wildlife without disturbing it.
• Simple ways to make gardens more wildlife friendly.

Children will leave with:

• Their own handmade bug hotel.
• The knowledge of how insects help our environment.
• Tips on where to position their bug hotel.
• The confidence to encourage more wildlife into their garden.
• A fun project they can watch change as insects move in.

Is this workshop suitable for beginners?

Absolutely! Our workshops are designed for beginners and are suitable for children of all abilities. No previous gardening or plant knowledge is needed.

Do parents need to stay?

Parents are welcome to stay throughout the workshop. If you prefer to browse the shop or enjoy a coffee while your child takes part, that's absolutely fine too.

What should we bring?

Nothing! All materials are provided unless otherwise stated. Just bring your enthusiasm and be ready to get hands-on.

What should my child wear?

We recommend wearing clothes that you don't mind getting a little messy, as we'll be using compost, plants and paints during some workshops.

What happens if I can't attend?

Workshop bookings are non-refundable. If you're unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible. Where sufficient notice is given and availability allows, we'll do our best to transfer your booking to another workshop date. Transfers cannot be guaranteed.
