Moderate watering. Keep the compost lightly moist but never waterlogged. Allow the top 2–3cm of compost to dry slightly between waterings. Reduce watering during winter when growth naturally slows.

Free-draining aroid mix made from houseplant compost, orchid bark, perlite, and a little horticultural charcoal to provide excellent drainage and airflow.

💡 Joe's Top Tip
Alocasia 'Polly' loves warmth, bright indirect light, and high humidity. Keep it away from cold draughts and radiators. Wipe the leaves regularly to remove dust and help them absorb as much light as possible.
⚠️ Common Mistake
Most people struggle with this plant by letting it become too dry, overwatering, or exposing it to cold temperatures. Sudden changes in conditions can cause leaf drop.

🌿 Plant Fact
Despite its common name, the African Mask Plant isn't from Africa. It's a hybrid created from Asian Alocasia species, and its bold leaf shape is what inspired the nickname.
🌍 Country Of Origin
